Who We Serve
Single moms, single dads, married couples and couples with biological children can stay at Vincent House so that the family unit can stay together in a time of crisis.
Vincent Village is the only transitional program in Fort Wayne that serves families that include men. Single dads, single moms, married couples and couples with biological children can stay at Vincent House so that the family unit can stay together in a time of crisis. Vincent Village has two transitional housing programs - Vincent House Transitional Shelter and Vincent Village Rental Homes (Phase II) program. Just last year, we served 268 individuals and 85 families!
How does a family find Vincent Village?
Many families come to us from local emergency shelters including Just Neighbors (IHN) and the YWCA. We work closely with them to put families on our waiting list for the transitional shelter, Vincent House. We typically have 25-30 families on the waiting list at any given time.
Families and individuals also call the help line funded by United Way of Allen County “211” and are referred to the appropriate shelter that fits their situation.
Potential participants for the Phase II program must be graduates from a transitional shelter or treatment program with a referral from a current case manager. Most Vincent Village homes are in close proximity to the St. Hyacinth Community Center.
